TAFFI 2024 Sponsor Prospectus

The inaugural Trans and Friends Festival Illawarra (TAFFI) was held at the University of Wollongong on Sunday 13 November 2022, at the start of Trans Awareness Week and again on Sunday 12 November 2023. TAFFI combined an academic program, community networking, market stalls and entertainment into a one day all ages festival for the local trans and gender diverse community and their friends and families.

TAFFI has been a huge success and will be held again at the University of Wollongong main campus on Sunday 10 November 2024. We are inviting you to be part of TAFFI 2024, which will be bigger and better!

The organisers are interested in sponsors who support the aims of the festival:

  • To provide support and networking for trans and gender diverse people and their families

  • To provide a forum for information and discussion about health issues that impact upon trans and gender diverse people and their families

  • To promote community resilience, inclusion and well being

Some of our key objectives in planning the 2024 festival are:

  • Inclusion and access for a diverse community, with a particular focus on young people, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, neurodiverse people and people with disabilities

  • Safety and security for attendees

  • Ensuring long term sustainability

TAFFI is run by the Illawarra Shoalhaven Gender Alliance (ISGA) in partnership with the University of Wollongong. In 2022 and 2023 TAFFI was entirely volunteer run, with in kind support from UOW Pulse, UOW Ally Network, Deer Gaze Entertainment Company and the AIDS Council of NSW (ACON) and catering from ViiV Australia. Our Major Sponsor last year was Aurora an The Pride Foundation.

Please see overleaf for details of potential sponsorship packages. Sponsorship will be used to pay performers and entertainment costs; create dedicated spaces for young people, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and neurodiverse people; provide transport and food vouchers for volunteers; and for printing and marketing materials. We are also keen to discuss sponsorship for particular activities e.g. a specific entertainer or speaker, space for young people, craft activity etc

For further information, please contact ISGA on hello@illawarrashoalhavengenderalliance.org.au
